Tattoo After Care Instructions

Keep the bandage on for at least two hours. Take a hot shower and let the tattoo rinse for a minimum of 30 seconds. Wash with a mild liquid soap, no more than twice a day. Pat your tattoo dry and use a fragrance-free lotion and apply atleast 2-3 times a day.  Stay away from any pools, Jacuzzi’s, lakes, ponds and ocean water for the first two weeks. If you have any questions regarding how your tattoo is healing, please contact the studio.

How do I schedule an appointment for a consultation?

Tattoo consultations are FREE and no appointment is necessary. You are welcome to stop by whenever it is convenient for you to discuss your tattoo.

How do I schedule a walk-in appointment?

The term walk-in means that no appointment is needed, because services are available without prior arrangement. We are a Walk-In studio, and tattoo on a first come first served basis.

I know I want a tattoo, but I don’t know what I want. Can you tell me what to get?

NO. We are happy to make suggestions, but we can not tell you what to get. That includes defining what is cool, feminine/masculine, or what symbolizes you. These are things only you can define. We are happy to steer you in the direction of what will work, look best as a tattoo, and draw once you have a solid idea of what you would like. You just have to tell us what you want.

Do I get to choose my artist?

Yes, of course. Just as we do not tell people what to get tattooed, we do not dictate who you get tattooed by. You are just subject to that particular artist’s availability. Not everyone is here everyday, nor do they have endless availability in one day to tattoo everyone wanting a tattoo.

Do I have to have a drawing ready for when I come in?

No. That is what we are here for. A clear idea of what you want and any photo reference you have will be helpful.

How long is the wait?

This is a really hard question to answer. It depends on who’s tattooing, how many tattooers we have available, who wants to get tattooed and what they want to have done. That being said, it is usually best to be here when we open. This way if you are not one of the first individuals in the chair that day, you are one of the first in line for the day.

Is there parking near your shop?

Yes, street parking is available.

Where are you located?

A-671 MARKET HILL – VANCOUVER, BC V5Z 4B5

What forms of payment do you accept?

We gladly accept cash, debit and all major credit cards. You are welcome to split your payment between cash & card. We do not offer cash back.

How much will my tattoo cost?

We do not offer any pricing over the phone or email. Estimates are only provided for pre-booked appointments.

What is your minimum for a tattoo?

All tattoos start at $200. Final price is dependent on size, detail in the design, location of the body where it will be placed, and finally whether it is done in color. Our artists have an hourly rate.

What is your phone number?

(604) 568-4253. Keep in mind our availability for phone calls is rather limited. The best way to get the info you need is to come on in. Second best way send us an email, DARKDAYSTUDIO@GMAIL.COM. Some questions can only be answered in person.

What time do you open?

We are regularly open six days a week (Tuesday-Sunday) from 11am to 7pm, though we have been known to stay open later. Like most other businesses, we are closed on certain holidays. We always announce when we will be closed, either with a sign on our door in advance, message on our voicemail, or posts on our facebook page.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our location is handicap accessible.

Can I come by the shop even if I don’t want a tattoo?

Yes. Our doors are open to the public.

How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?

We have a strict No Minors policy. An individual must be at least eighteen years of age with a valid Government issued Photo ID to get a tattoo. No exceptions.

What if I am 18 or older, but do not have a photo ID?

We require a valid Government issued Photo ID from anyone and everyone that wants to get a tattoo. Again, no exceptions. Examples of acceptable forms of ID: BC ID, Driver’s License, Military ID, Passport.
